Herzig Named Patriot League Golfer of the Week
HAMILTON – After firing back-to-back rounds of 68 in the Savannah Intercollegiate over the weekend, senior Robbie Herzig has been named the Patriot League's Golfer of the Week.
Herzig tied for first competing against 84 golfers across 14 teams in the weekend tournament at The Club at Savannah Harbor. The senior turned in seven birdies and an eagle, which included a bogey-free second round to vault into a tie for first place with an 8-under 136 two-round score.
Herzig tied with two other golfers atop the leaderboard. His 27 pars were tied for fifth-most on the day. He helped lead Colgate to an 11th-place finish as a team after Sunday's final round of the tournament was canceled due to weather.
The senior New York, N.Y., native is Colgate's first individual winner since April 2024 when he captured first place in a head-to-head battle at St. Bonaventure. Herzig was also Colgate's last individual champion in a tournament setting when he took first place in the Upstate Battle at Seven Oaks in April 2023.
