COLUMBUS, Ohio – Robbie Herzig shot a 2-over 218 over three days in the Buckeye Classic to finish tied for 22nd, leading six Raiders competing in the 54-hole tournament at Columbus Country Club hosted by Ohio State.
Colgate finished 12th of 13 teams competing with an aggregate scorecard of 895 (+31), one stroke behind 10th and 11th place and two strokes out of ninth place. Ohio State won its home tournament with an 846 three-day score (-18).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Herzig, who was even through two rounds, shot a 1-over 73 on Saturday to lead the Raiders for the second straight weekend and finish tied for 22nd place. The senior was tied for fourth in the field with a 1-under score on par 3s, averaging 2.92 shots per hole.
- Leo Li had another strong outing and saved his best for last, shooting a 1-over on Sunday to finish 10-over (226) for the tournament in a tie for 55th place. Brayden Dock also finished with a 226 aggregate score after turning in a 4-over 76 in the final round.
- Jamison Bryant finished one stroke behind Li and Dock, carding an 11-over 227 three-day score. He also saved his best round for last, turning in a 2-over 74 on Sunday.
- Justin Fedele (+16) and Wyatt Petersen (+23) rounded out Colgate's contingent in 69th and 77th place, respectively.

Colgate now sets its sights on the Patriot League championship April 25-27. The 54-hole tournament will be held over three days at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa. The individual and team winners will earn an automatic berth to the NCAA championship.
