Irwin Named Defender of the Week
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Reid Irwin was named ECAC Defender of the Week, announced by the league Monday.
Irwin found the back of the net in both of Colgate's games and also recorded an assist for a three-point weekend.
During Friday's 5-4 win over St. Lawrence, Irwin tied the game at 2-2 in the first period after the Saints had taken an early two-goal advantage. He fired in a shot from the left faceoff circle to even the score at the 4:15 mark.
The senior also assisted the Raiders' goal in the third period, which put them ahead 4-3. It marked his fourth multi-point game this season.
On Saturday against #19 Clarkson, Irwin scored a power-play goal with just under five and a half minutes remaining to get Colgate on the board at 2-1.
The Raiders close out the regular season on the road this weekend. Colgate travels to RPI Friday for a 7 p.m. game and Union Saturday for a 4 p.m. contest.
