Three Raiders Earn ECAC All-League Honors
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Three Colgate men's hockey players earned postseason recognition from ECAC Hockey, announced by the conference on a rolling basis this week.
Brett Chorske was named First Team All-League, Tommy Bergsland earned Second Team All-League accolades, and Michael Neumeier grabbed a spot on the All-Rookie Team.
Chorske posted career-bests in goals (15) and points (33), also tallying 18 assists. The forward sits tied for fifth in ECAC Hockey in goals and ranks tied for fourth in points. He held the nation's longest active point streak of 13 games, accumulating 15 points (9G, 6A) during it. The senior logged six multi-point performances in the regular season.
Chorske posted a three-point performance (2G, 1A), including the game-winning goal at Princeton Jan. 18. He also recorded two goals and a helper in the win at RIT Oct. 26.
Bergsland earned second team honors for the second straight season after leading the team in assists (20) and scoring four goals for a 24-point output. He ranks eighth in the ECAC and first among league defensemen in assists. Bergsland also sits 13th nationally in assists by a blueliner.
The senior logged five multi-assist games during the regular season. He tallied two helpers in the win at Princeton (Jan 18) and vs Brown (Nov. 8).
Bergsland tied his career-high with three assists twice this season, guiding Colgate to wins over #12 Cornell (Dec. 7) and Sacred Heart (Oct. 11).
The blueliner also recorded his first career multi-goal game, finding the back of the net twice in the win at RPI.
Neumeier had a standout rookie season, posting 20 points (12G, 8A), 15 of which (10G, 5A) came during conference play. He ranks tied for ninth among league rookies in helpers and points.
The first-year scored two game-winning goals this season, most recently the overtime-winner at RPI that secured the Raiders the opening-round bye. He also scored the winner in the victory over the Big Red at home.
Neumeier posted three multi-point games, logging a goal and an assist in the most recent win over RPI and doing the same at Yale (Feb. 14). He also registered a goal and a helper at home against the Bulldogs (Nov. 9).
