Men's Hockey Defeats Princeton

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Brett Chorske found the back of the net with just under two minutes remaining in the first, giving the Raiders a 1-0 advantage. Alex DiPaolo played the puck to Chorske, and he played a quick pass to Michael Neumeier, who hit it back to Chorske. The senior then finished a shot from right in front.
  • DiPaolo extended Colgate's lead to 2-0 with 2:17 left in the second. Simon Labelle collected the puck behind the net and passed it to Antonio Fernandez, who hit it to DiPaolo for a one-timer he slammed into the net.
  • Princeton got one back with a tally from Drew Garzone two minutes into the third, making it 2-1.
  • The Raiders had two chances to add to its lead in the third, with Michael Neumeier and Antonio Fernandez hitting shots off the pipe.
  • Andrew Takacs stopped 13 shots in the third period to seal the deal, including three big stops in the final 1:45.
  • Colgate had one other power play in the contest, in the third, but it could not capitalize on it.
  • The Raiders killed off Princeton's only power play opportunity of the game in the first period.

GAME NOTES

  • DiPaolo led Colgate with two points (1G, 1A)
  • Chorske's goal extended his point streak to seven games and his goal streak to three.
  • Takacs finished with 27 saves in net.
  • The Raiders are unbeaten in their last three conference games (2-0-1) and hold a 5-1-1 mark in its last seven contests. 
  • Colgate has now won six straight games against Princeton.
