Men's Hockey Welcomes Seven Newcomers

HAMILTON - Mike Harder and the Colgate Men's Hockey program has announced the addition of five first-years and two transfers to the 2025-26 Raiders roster. The newcomers hail from six different states and provinces including four Canadians and three Americans.

HAMILTON - Mike Harder and the Colgate Men's Hockey program has announced the addition of five first-years and two transfers to the 2025-26 Raiders roster. The newcomers hail from six different states and provinces including four Canadians and three Americans.

The incoming class includes three forwards, three defensemen, and one goaltender, joining the 19 returning Raiders.

"We are thrilled to be welcoming this class to campus in August," Harder said. "This group of talented and bright young men will have a strong positive impact on our team culture and make us deeper in all positions."

The newcomers are listed in alphabetical order.

Tyson Doucette
Forward
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
Sarnia Sting (OHL)

Played for the Sarnia Sting in the OHL from 2022-25 amassing 191 games played, 47 goals, and 43 assists. Doucette scored 20 goals and added 16 assists in the 2024-25 season and helped win the Western Conference Finals in the 2022-23 season.

Reid Dyck
Goaltender
Winkler, Manitoba
Swift Current Broncos (WHL)

Dyck wrapped up his junior career with the Swift Current Broncos in the WHL where he posted a 71-67-7 record with six shutouts and a .892 save percentage. He was selected to the Second Team Central Division All-Star team in the 2023-24 season after helping the Broncos in the Central Division in the WHL and named assistant captain in 2024-25. Dyck earned the Co-MVP award in the 2024-25 season along with the Desire and Sportsmanship award. The Manitoba native attended the New York Islanders development camp in 2025.

Luke Malboeuf
Defenseman
Pittsburgh, Pa.
Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL)

Malboeuf graduated from North Catholic High School in 2023 and played two seasons with the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL. He tallied 22 points in two seasons and was named captain in the 2024-25 season. The Pittsburgh native helped the Fighting Saints win the USHL Eastern Conference Finals in the 2023-24 season before falling in the Clark Cup Final. Malboeuf grew up with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite AAA program playing from 2019-2023.

Joshua Niedermayer
Defenseman
Newport Beach, Calif.
Arizona State (NCHC)

Appeared in 19 games for Arizona State in 2023-24 and recorded four assists. Niedermayer played three seasons for the Penticton Vees in the BCHL where he earned back-to-back British Columbia Hockey League Championships. He skated in 56 games for the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL and tallied 25 points.

Isaiah Norlin
Defenseman
Farmington, Minn.
University of Nebraska Omaha (NCHC)

Norlin graduated from Gentry Academy in 2021 and posted 72 points in 69 games for Gentry Academy and won the Minnesota State Championship. He played for the West Kelowna Warriors from 2021-24 and appeared in 143 games and tallied 105 points for the Warriors. Norlin earned BCHL Top Defenseman of the Year in the 2023-24 season and attended University of Nebraska Omaha for one season. He skated in 16 games and recorded one assist for the Mavericks.

Davide Patella

Laval, Quebec
Brooks Bandits (BCHL)

Played for the Brooks Bandits in the BCHL from 2022-25 and tallied 60 points in 138 games including 21 points in his final season. Patella won the Alberta Junior Hockey League Championship and the Centennial Cup Championship in 2023 and the U20 Super Challenge Champions in Sweden in 2024. The Quebec native helped the Bandits secure the  British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) Championship in 2025. He also is a two-time Kyle Turris Community Award recipient, given out to the players who go above and beyond in their community.

Easton Wainwright
Forward

Sarnia Sting (OHL)

Wainwright graduated from Westmount Secondary School in 2023. He played for the Sarnia Sting in the OHL from 2021-25 and was named assistant captain from 2023-25. Wainwright appeared in 216 games for the Sting and scored 49 goals while adding 76 assists, including six goals and one assist in the 2023 western conference finals playoff run. He earned Ontario Junior Hockey League First Team All-Rookie honors and was finalist for Rookie of the Year in the OJHL in the 2021-22 season. Was honored as an OHA Top Forward Prospect in 2021-22 and won Scholastic Player of the Year in 2022-23.
