Turner and Connor Earn USILA Team of the Week Spots
HAMILTON — Jack Turner and Rory Connor earned spots on the USILA Division I Team of the Week following their performances in Colgate's 19-14 win at UAlbany last Friday.
Connor, the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, led the Raiders with seven goals in the victory. The senior tied his career high in goals (7) and points (8) with an assist.
Connor notched three goals in the second and third quarters and one in the fourth, helping him record the sixth game of his career with four or more goals.
Turner recorded career-highs in goals (6), assists (4) and points (10) on Friday. He became the first Raider to log 10 points in a game since Peter Baum in a 24-14 win at Robert Morris on March 3, 2012.
The senior netted the first three goals of the game, recording a hat trick in the opening 4:51. He also logged two goals and two assists in the third quarter, helping the Raiders expand their lead to double digits at 16-5.
Colgate is back in action Saturday at #19/20 Villanova. The game was moved on the road and to a 1 p.m. start time due to expected weather conditions.
