Raiders Drop Season Opener
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Colgate battled to a 14-9 defeat in its season opener at #14 Penn State Saturday afternoon.
COACH KARWECK'S COMMENTS
"Hats off to Penn State, they are a good, talented, well-coached team.
Simply put, I didn't do a good enough job getting our guys ready to win this type of game.
Our energy was good, our focus was there, our sideline was fired up, and our game plan was solid. My job is to make adjustments quicker and recognize advantages earlier, and I just didn't make those decisions quickly enough.
The good news is that we did a lot of really good things that we will take into Virginia next weekend. Some of the best lessons are from losses, and we'll get better from this one."

- Following two more goals by Penn State, Liam Connor scored to cut the deficit to three at 8-5. PSU tacked on two more, taking a 10-5 lead into the halftime break.
