Yates Grabs Spot on Tewaaraton Award Watch List
HAMILTON — Max Yates was named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List Thursday evening.
The Tewaaraton Award honors the top men's and women's players in college lacrosse. The watch list features the best 50 players from each side.
Yates, a 2024 First Team All-Patriot League selection, logged 31 caused turnovers last season. He averaged 2.07 per contest, which ranked second in the Patriot League and eighth nationally.
The senior recorded 10 games with multiple caused turnovers, including four with three or more.
Yates also led the team and ranked fourth in the Patriot League in ground balls. He scooped up three or more ground balls in all but one contest last season. Yates averaged 5.60 ground balls per game, fifth-best in the Patriot League.
The long-stick midfielder corralled two ground balls in the Raiders' season opener at No. 14 Penn State last Saturday. Yates was named a Third Team Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse.
The Raiders are back in action Saturday at No. 5/6 Virginia. Opening face-off is 12 p.m.
