Connor and LaCombe Named Academic All-Patriot League

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Rory Connor and Matt LaCombe got named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference announced on Thursday.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Rory Connor and Matt LaCombe were named to the men's lacrosse Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
 
Connor earned a spot on the team for the second straight year. The Economics major is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection and a Raider Academic Honor Roll recipient.
 
LaCombe garnered Academic All-Patriot League honors for the first time in his career. The 2024 Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year has been named to the Raider Academic Honor Roll and the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as an Economics major.
 
Both players have also been active in community service work, like the team's pediatric cancer awareness efforts and welcoming students at Hamilton Central Schools.
 
On the field, Connor led the team with a career-high 64 points, logging career-bests in goals (30) and assists (34). He ranked third in the Patriot League in points and points per game (4.27) while falling second in assists and assists per game (2.27).
 
The junior posted 12 multi-point games, including seven with five or more. Connor logged three goals and three helpers in a win at Hobart. He also recorded five points in back-to-back contests, including a hat trick in a win over Loyola and four assists in a victory against Lafayette.
 
Connor tallied 24 points in the final three games, tying his career-high of eight each time. This included six goals to help the Raiders defeat Holy Cross and a career-high seven assists at Boston University in the Patriot League quarterfinals.
 
LaCombe finished second in the Patriot League and fifth nationally in saves with a career-high 196. His 13.07 stops per contest ranked third in the conference and 12th nationally. The junior also posted career bests in save percentage (.525) and goals against average (11.80).
 
He made double-digit saves in 13 games, including four with 15 or more. LaCombe helped the Raiders pick up two victories over top-five opponents, stopping 13 shots at No. 4 Penn State and making 18 saves at No. 5 Army. LaCombe also made a season-best 20 saves against Loyola.
