Raiders Meet Army in Semifinals

The Raiders advanced with a 14-10 win over No. 4 seed Lehigh in the quarterfinals Tuesday evening. Liam Connor led the Raiders with seven points behind three goals and four assists. Hunter Drouin posted three points (2G, 1A), surpassing the 100-career point mark.

Defensively, John Carrabine and Erickson logged four caused turnovers in the win, with Carrabine, scooping up a team-best and career-high seven ground balls while Erickson corralled four ground balls.

Army is ranked No. 4 nationally and earned the top seed in the tournament after defeating Loyola 18-6 to end the regular season. 
 
The game on Friday marks the 47th meeting between the programs. Army earned a 13-7 victory in Hamilton during the regular season. The Raiders started slow, falling behind 7-1, but pulled within three (8-5) at halftime before the Black Knights held Colgate to two goals in the second half. 

The last time the teams met at Michie Stadium was during the 2024 season when the Raiders earned a 14-11 road victory over Army, its first win over the Black Knights since 2018.

Colgate had four players earn All-Patriot League honors on Monday, led by Drouin and R. Connor landing spots on the First Team. 

Connor falls tied for third in the conference and tied for eighth nationally in goals per game (3.00) while ranking fourth in the Patriot League and 11th in the NCAA in points per game (4.79). Drouin has logged a point in 32 straight games since the 2023 season, extending his streak with three points (2G, 1A) on Tuesday. Drouin has 10 multi-point games this season. 

Liam Connor and Max Yates earned second team honors. L. Connor sits second in the Patriot League and sixth nationally in assists per game (2.80). He broke the program record for assists in a season (35) and now has 42 total. Yates has scooped up three or more GBs in 11 straight contests and has posted five games with five-plus ground balls.

The Raiders have scored 24 man-up goals this season, sitting second in the Patriot League and nationally behind Boston University (28). Colgate has eight games with multiple extra-man goals this season, including three in their last meeting against Army. R. Connor leads the team with seven EMO goals, while Drouin and Ryan Favaro have notched five.

The winner of Friday's contest plays either No. 2 seed Boston University or No. 3 Lafayette, who square off at 7 p.m. Friday. The championship game will take place Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in West Point and airs live on CBS Sports.
