BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Two Colgate men's soccer players earned Patriot League weekly honors, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. Two Colgate men's soccer players earned Patriot League weekly honors, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

Oliver Townend earned Goalkeeper of the Week, while Connor Cates was named Offensive Player of the Week following the Raiders' 2-1 win at Lehigh last Friday.

Townend picked up his third weekly award from the Patriot League after stopping five shots against the Mountain Hawks, earning his fourth win of the season.
The senior saved four shots in the first half, including a penalty kick in the 42nd minute to prevent the Mountain Hawks from taking the lead in the 42nd minute. Townend's lone save in the second came in the 83rd minute on a dangerous chance.

Cates was the hero of Friday's victory, scoring the game-winner in the 88th minute to secure the three points for the Raiders. The goal was the first of his career.

The sophomore ripped a one-timer from the middle of the box that got tipped by the goalie and fell into the back of the net. This marks the first time in his career that Cates has earned a Patriot League weekly award.

Colgate rounds out the regular season at home Tuesday, hosting Army at 6 p.m. The Raiders sit in a four-way tie for fourth place (11 points) and fall one point back from third.
