Colgate's Season Ends in Patriot League Championship

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Colgate's season ended with a 3-0 defeat at Bucknell in the Patriot League Championship Saturday evening.

"Although I am disappointed with the result of tonight's game, I am very proud of the group and took another step forward this season. Our seniors led the way and will be missed. I am very grateful for their contributions. We have a terrific returning group who will build upon this year's success."

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Bison pulled ahead 1-0 in the 10th minute when Waldemar Kattrup found the back of the net. 
  • Bucknell doubled its lead in the 60th minute with a tally from Drew Roskos. The Bison then made it 3-0 with a goal from Nick Prime in the 76th minute. 
  • Pipkin got a look at the goal in the 74th minute, ripping a shot that hit off a defender before being saved by the goalie. The first-year tried another in the 82nd minute, firing one from outside the box that went wide. 
  • Liam Winograd took a rip in the 79th minute that went over the crossbar.
  • In the 51st minute, Alex St. John took the ball from a Bison defender and fired a shot from outside the box that was bobbled by the keeper.
  • Colgate earned a corner two minutes into the second that it could not convert. 
  • The Raiders recorded four shots during the first half. In the 44th minute, Timmy Donovan ripped one from just inside the box that got blocked. Forty seconds later, Dale Lepper tried one from outside the box that got saved. 
  • Hughes ripped a shot in the seventh minute that was blocked by a defender. Two minutes later, he tried another that was deflected.
  • The Raiders earned their first corner of the game in the seventh minute but could not get anything going.

GAME NOTES

  • Colgate fired nine shots, landing three on target. 
  • Oliver Townend recorded five saves in goal.
  • The Raiders finished the season 8-9-4, including a 4-3-2 Patriot League mark.
