Israel Named to Patriot Academic All-League Team
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Josh Israel earned a spot on the Patriot League Men's Tennis Academic All-League Team, the conference announced on Friday.
Israel earned the honor for the fourth straight year. The Molecular Biology major is also a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection.
The senior was named a Golden Fellow, a prestigious fellowship that supports top pre-med and pre-law students at Colgate. He was also honored with the University's Edwin Foster Kingsbury Award for Excellence in Chemistry in 2023.
On the court, Israel served as team captain as a senior. He posted a 10-9 singles record, playing primarily at No. 2. He also logged a 6-11 record at No. 2 doubles.
Israel won three straight singles matches Feb. 8-16, helping Colgate to victories over Mercyhurst, Siena, and Rochester. He also picked up doubles wins during the matches against Siena and Rochester. The Madison, Conn., native posted back-to-back victories during conference play, helping the Raiders defeat Boston University and Lehigh in crucial matches down the stretch.
Colgate finished with a 12-9 record, including a 4-3 Patriot League mark, a major turnaround from the 2024 season.
