Colgate Sets Four New Records At Patriot League Championships
BOSTON – The Colgate Men's and Women's Track and Field team competed in the Patriot League Indoor Championships at Boston University on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25.
COACH FRANCE'S COMMENTS
"Like many teams we had a healthy dose of adversity leading up to this championship weekend and we fought through it together. To have four records fall this weekend and numerous personal records set, our team is trending in the right direction. We're ready to get back to work and looking forward to gearing up for what's to come in the outdoor season."
WOMEN
Kiran George won the high jump indoor pentathlon, breaking a school record with a leap of 1.68m. The first year also finished sixth in the 60 Meter hurdles indoor pentathlon.
Melinda Haagensen continues to write her own record books as she broke her own record for the fourth time this season in the pole vault with a vault of 3.80m. The first year finished eighth in the event.
MEN
Dakin Ebmeyer, Ethan Eisner, Benjamin Horner, Liam Davis made the podium in third in the distance medley breaking the school record for the event with a time of 9:53.21, just .12 seconds short of second.
Dakin Ebmeyer, who also scored in the mile run, won Patriot Rookie of the Meet.
In the 4x400 relay, Jeffory Groth, Ryan Krill, Simon Connors, and Luca Sturgeon ran an impressive race finishing just a second off of podium time to place fourth.
Cole Blair was able to finish sixth in the triple jump with a 14.23m leap.
Kwadjo Mensah broke the first year record in the 60m dash with a time of 7.09 seconds.
UP NEXT
The Raider will go back to Boston to compete in the ECAC/IC4A Championship. The meet will take place Friday, Mar. 1 until Sunday, Mar. 3.
