Colgate used a 42-point second half that included a nine-point surge in the third quarter to help give the Raiders their fourth Patriot League win of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Taylor Golembiewski scored the first four points of the game to put the Raiders up 4-0 to open the contest.
- The Leopards responded with a 9-4 run taking a 9-8 lead into the first media timeout.
- Morgan McMahon hit a step back jumper before Christina Midgette finished a tough bucket down low to give Colgate the lead with under two minutes to go in the first quarter.
- Golembiewski was able to wiggle through the defense and drop a layup as the clock expired to give the Raiders a 16-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Lafayette rattled off seven unanswered to start the second frame and forced a Colgate timeout.
- Ella Meabon came off the bench hitting a lay up and forcing three turnovers to spark a six-point Colgate surge and regain the lead for the Raiders.
- Colgate went into the bonus with under two minutes left in the first half and took advantage, hitting four straight free throws to take a 30-27 lead into the halftime break.
- The Raiders came out of halftime with a quick bucket from Midgette and then forced a 10-second violation defensively. Golembiewski drilled a jumper to push the Colgate lead to 34-27.
- Anne Bair hit two from the charity stripe before Madison Schiller drained a triple to force a Lafayette timeout as the Raiders took a commanding 39-29 lead.
- TG and Schiller each finished a lay up on Colgate's nine-point run which saw the Raiders take a 12-point lead midway through the third frame.
- Lafayette hit one of two free throws at the end of the third frame to cut the Raiders lead to 49-40 heading into the fourth quarter.
- Bair hit a 3-pointer after McMahon opened up the final frame with a jumper to help give Colgate a 14-point cushion.
- Midgette picked off a Leopards pass and took it the length of the floor for a lay up to put the Raiders up 65-50
- Schiller hit a dagger three with 1:34 left in the game to push the Raiders over the line, winning 72-56.
