Biederman Bags Second Weekly Award
DANBURY, Conn. – Junior forward Elyssa Biederman was named ECAC Forward of the Week, presented by BlueBird Hotels, for the second time in three weeks after helping Colgate to a pair of road league wins over No. 14 Brown and Yale. It is the third-straight week a Colgate skater has won the award after fifth-year forward Kristýna Kaltounková earned the honor last time out.
Biederman was instrumental in both come-from-behind wins this past weekend, contributing back-to-back multi-point performances with four total tallies and two power-play goals.
In a 4-3 overtime win against a ranked Brown squad, Biederman assisted on the first goal of the game and scored Colgate's second to give the Raiders a 2-1 advantage heading into the final frame.
Saturday's 4-3 win over Yale saw the Franklin, Mich., native again assist on the opening score of the contest. Biederman also netted the game-winning goal with seven minutes remaining, her fourth-power play score of the season and sixth-career game-winner.
Both matchups saw Biederman fire off a season-high seven shots on a goal.
The Raiders look to continue their eight-game win streak against Dartmouth on Friday and Harvard on Saturday. The team will celebrate alumnae weekend starting Friday at 6 p.m. against the Big Green and continuing to Saturday's 3 p.m. matchup with the Crimson.
