Kaltounková Voted Forward of the Week
DANBURY, Conn. – For the third time this season, fifth-year forward Kristýna Kaltounková has been named the ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Kaltounková was instrumental in this past weekend's sweep of No. 10/9 Quinnipiac and No. 13 Princeton, adding three goals, two assists and five points across both wins. The fifth-year center also won nearly 40% of her face offs while blocking three shots.
In Friday night's come-from-behind win against Quinnipiac, Kaltounková netted Colgate's first score of the game, expertly skating nearly the entire length of the ice while evading three Bobcat defenders before beating the goalie with a snipe inside the far post.
The Vlasim, Czech Republic native scored or assisted on all four of Colgate's goals against Princeton on Saturday helping the Raiders to their seventh win against ranked opponents this season.
Kaltounková is now tied for the most goals scored in the entire country and leads the ECAC with 41 points so far this season (sixth in NCAA Division I).
The fifth-year phenom will hit the road this weekend as No. 5 Colgate travels to Harvard for a Friday-night bout at 6 p.m. before matching up with Dartmouth at 3 p.m. on Jan. 25.
