HAMILTON  Sophomore Emma Pais scored twice and junior Elyssa Biederman picked up two assists as No. 5 Colgate bested Brown, 3-1, in its final regular season contest of the season.

The Raiders weathered an early storm on the back of senior goalie Averill McCorkle, who made three crucial saves in her first-career start on senior day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Brown eventually broke through in the opening frame to take a 1-0 lead into intermission.
  • Pais responded for the Raiders, taking a pass from fifth-year Kristýna Kaltounková the length of the ice before finishing her 17th goal of the season five hole.
  • Pais potted her second snipe of the night just under two minutes into the third, this time on the power play, to give Colgate a lead it would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest.
  • The Bears opted for an empty net with under three minutes to play and sophomore Madeline Palumbo made them pay with her ninth goal of the season to put the win on ice.

GAME NOTES

  • Biederman contributed her 38th career multi-point performance while Pais added her 17th.
  • Pais contributed her ninth power-play goal of the season in the win, tied for the second-most in the country.
