Kaltounková Collects Forward of the Week Nod
DANBURY, Conn. – Fifth-year forward Kristýna Kaltounková was selected as the ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels, the conference announced Tuesday morning. It is the second-consecutive award for Colgate after Elyssa Biederman claimed the honor last week.
Kaltounková contributed four points this past weekend with a +3 rating as Colgate took down Rensselaer and Union by a combined score of 8-4.
She added two assists to Friday's 4-1 win over RPI, becoming the second-ever Raider to hit the 200 career point milestone. In a 4-3 triumph against Union on Saturday, Kaltounková poured in a pair of goals including the game-winning score with nine minutes remaining in regulation.
The Vlasim, Czech Republic native has contributed multi-point performances in five out of her last six outings, and boasts 18 tallies in 12 games so far this season. Her 1.50 points per game average is also tied for seventh-best in the country.
The No. 5 Colgate Raiders (9-3, 2-0 ECAC) have another weekend of conference competition coming up, starting their road trip with a 6 p.m. matchup against No. 14 Brown (6-0, 4-0 ECAC) on Friday night. The team's second stop is in New Haven for a 3 p.m. game versus Yale (3-1-1, 2-1-1 ECAC).
