COACH TAYLOR'S COMMENTS

"Always tough to have a season come to an end, especially one where players really enjoy competing together. This team fought hard today against a seasoned and talented Holy Cross team. We battled back to within a goal in the third quarter but they pulled away in the fourth on some great off ball cuts. The future looks very bright for this young team that has grown up a lot this year and seems hungry to be a top team in the Patriot League."

HOW IT HAPPENED

Colgate came out on fire scoring three straight in the first quarter. Lucy Licata buried a feed from Kyra Lucey that put the Raiders up 1-0 just over five minutes into the game. The assist from Lucey was her 87th in her Colgate career etching her name into the record books as the all-time assists leader in Colgate women's lacrosse history.

Lauren Thompson found Devon Maillet who slotted the chance home before Licata got her second of the day and the Raiders led 3-0 with 5:31 left in the first.

Holy Cross finished the first quarter with two goals to cut the lead to 3-2. The Crusaders scored another two straight and took a 4-3 lead with 11:18 left in the second.

Caroline Panzirer netted her 21st game of the year, knotting the game up at four. Holy Cross finished the half on a 3-0 run taking 7-4 lead into the break.

Colgate clawed back within one as Thompson scored two minutes into the third, then Maillet took advantage of a free position 30 seconds later.

Holy Cross scored two more unanswered until Ella Bishara went on a frenzy scoring Colgate's next three goals. The first cut the deficit to 9-7 on a free position shot. Bishara netted her second with three minutes left in the third making the score 10-8.

Bishara completed the hat trick 90 seconds into the final frame getting the Raiders to within one. However, this is as close as they would come, as the Raiders season ended in a 14-9 defeat to Holy Cross.

Lauren Solis played the entire game between the pipes, making nine saves.
