COACH HOKANSON'S COMMENTS

"It's always really hard when the season comes to a close. We faced a very good and well-coached Loyola team today who found a way to assert themselves on the game. I'm proud our group never relented, and as they've done all year they fought until the end.
Definitely want to applaud our senior class as they finish up their time with our program. They did everything they could to leave this place better than they found it and we couldn't have achieved what we did this year without their leadership and guidance. I am so proud of the women they have become and grateful for all they've given to their teammates and to our staff. We know the future is bright for us and that's in huge thanks to them."

HOW IT HAPPENED

Loyola created a couple early chances but the Colgate defense was able to prevent anything from hitting the back of the net.

Loyola swung a long free kick into the box just under 15 minutes into the game that bobbled around the six yard box before Ella Poppinga came out and smothered it.

The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute of the match.

Loyola was able to double its lead in the 32nd minute on a corner kick goal.

With under five minutes remaining in the half, Ari Bezanson found a bit of space 18 yards away but her effort on goal was blocked by a Loyola defender.

Loyola scored a third three minutes into the second half after a great save by Ella Poppinga, the Greyhounds were able to put away the rebound.

In the 60th minute, Sophie Wand spun her defender and took a long range shot but it went wide left.

Alli Popham entered the match with 15 minutes left. Ella Poppinga made a career-high five saves during her 75 minutes of play.

Ellie Stokes fired a cross into the box with under ten minutes left in the match but it was just too high for Paige Foa's head.

Colgate was unable to crack the Loyola defense and fell 3-0 at Ridley Athletic Complex.
