WEST POINT, N.Y. — Colgate dropped the first game of its three-game set at Army, 8-0 in five innings, before Game 2 was suspended due to adverse weather conditions in the bottom of the third inning. The Black Knights hold a 4-3 lead when play resumes Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Game 1 | Army 8, Colgate 0 (5)

  • Army did most of its damage in the bottom of the second inning, scoring seven of its eight runs. The Black Knights benefited from four walks and four hits in the inning, with the big blow coming from a two-run homer by Ashton White to give the home team a 7-0 lead.
  • Colgate had a runner in scoring position in each of the first two innings. Lily Haluska was hit by a pitch in the first, advancing Quinn Livesay to second but the Raiders couldn't cash in.
  • Again in the second, a sacrifice bunt by Alexis Romero advanced Mia Cascio to second but she was stranded there. Cascio's leadoff single down the right field line in the second inning was Colgate's lone hit of the contest.
  • The home team tacked on another run in the fourth inning. The Raiders couldn't scratch a run across in the fifth, ultimately falling short 8-0 in the opener.

Game 2 | Army 4, Colgate 3 (Play Suspended to 9 a.m. Sunday morning)

  • Army came out hot in Game 2, scoring four runs on five hits including a three-run homer to open a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
  • Colgate scored the last three runs before play was halted. Mackenzie Lewis grounded to the shortstop, and Analisa Raffaelli raced home and beat the throw to get the Raiders on the board in the top of the second.
  • Cascio started the third inning with an RBI double to center field and scored one batter later when Romero ripped a single up the middle to trim the deficit to 4-3.
  • With one out of the bottom of the third, play was halted.
