BETHLEHEM, Pa.  — Kiley Shelton's legendary first season of collegiate softball will end in storybook fashion, as the first-year outfielder was announced as the Patriot League Rookie of the Year on Tuesday afternoon.

The announcement comes after a monster rookie season for Shelton where she led the league with eight home runs, broke the Colgate softball single-season record for most RBIs by a first-year (38), and finished the season with the most hits among all Patriot League rookie hitters (51).

Shelton, Colgate's sixth-ever Rookie of the Year selection, started her 2024 campaign by logging a hit in 12 out of her first 15 games, six of which were multi-hit performances. She ended the season with 14 multiple-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games, both figures that are second on the team.

In total, Shelton's 38 RBIs and 37 runs scored ranked first among Patriot League rookies, and her .566 slugging percentage was the second-best figure by rookie hitters.
