Softball Adds Seven First Years

HAMILTON – Head coach Marissa Lamison-Myers announced the addition of seven new first-year student-athletes on Monday. Lily Haluska, Mackenzie Lewis, Sydney Berg, Hailey Gald, Mia Cascio, Analisa Raffaelli and Mikala Ham are all joining the fray this year looking to help the squad improve from a 22-28 record last spring.

HAMILTON – Head coach Marissa Lamison-Myers announced the addition of seven new first-year student-athletes on Monday. Lily Haluska, Mackenzie Lewis, Sydney Berg, Hailey Gald, Mia Cascio, Analisa Raffaelli and Mikala Ham are all joining the fray this year looking to help the squad improve from a 22-28 record last spring.

"I'm very excited to add these seven amazing players to an already talented roster," Lamison-Myers said. "They all bring their own unique skills to the table, and I think they will make a huge impact on the squad this year."

The seven newcomers hail from five different states, led by California natives Cascio, Gald and Berg. The first-years will play four different positions for the Raiders with a pair of catchers, outfielders and infielders and one pitcher in Ham.

#2 Lily Haluska - C - 5-6 - Ballston Lake, N.Y.

Before Colgate
Lettered as a catcher/infielder for four years at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School under head coach Caitlyn Rana… Launched 19 career home runs (school record) and was named Section 2 player of the year, Suburban Council Player of the Year and First team All-State in 2024… Also won conference catcher of the year honors in 2022.

#6 Mackenzie Lewis - OF - 5-0 - East New Market, Md.

Before Colgate
Lettered as an outfielder for four years at North Dorchester High School under head coach Carol Hubbard… Ended her career with 120 hits, nine home runs and a perfect fielding percentage… Named to the Bayside Conference first team all four years… Led her team to a Maryland 1A state championship in 2023.

Born: Mackenzie Elizabeth Lewis in East New Market, Md.
Family: Daughter of Eric and Bridgit Lewis… Has a brother and a sister.

#12 Sydney Berg - OF - 5-9 - Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.

Before Colgate
Lettered as an outfielder for four years at Santa Margarita Catholic High School under head coach John Fitzpatrick… Captained her senior year squad… Earned an All-Trinity League honorable mention in 2024… Also played two years of travel ball with Cruisers Fastpitch under head coach Alan Couette.

Family: Daughter of Brian Berg and Marisol Solis… Has two sisters.

#13 Hailey Gald - C - 5-6 - Mission Viejo, Calif.

Before Colgate
Lettered as a cacher for four years at Mission Viejo High School under head coach Clint Watson… Named first team all-league and defensive player of the year her senior year… Also led the Diablos to a CIF Championship in 2022… Played six years of travel ball under Clint Watson with the Watson Wolfpack… Placed third at the TCS National Tournament.

Lettered as an infielder for four years at Rancho Bernardo High School under head coach Summer Boyle… Averaged .254 with 48 RBIs and nine home runs for her career… Captained the 2023 and 2024 Broncos squads… Named a CIF All-Star in 2024 and second team All-Palomar League in 2023.

Lettered as a shortstop for four years at IC Catholic Prep under head coach Frank Reaber… Ended her career with a .566 batting average with 216 hits, 149 RBIs and 37 home runs… Named third team all-state in 2020, second team all-state in 2021, and earned first team all-state bids her junior and senior year… Named the Conference Player of the Year from 2021-2024… Set the single season school record for stolen bases home runs and the career program record for runs scored and hits.

Lettered as a pitcher for four years at Vista Ridge High School under head coach John Romero… Struck out 731 career batters with a .89 ERA… Finished her senior season with a .8 ERA… Named first team All-District in 2022, 2023 and 2024… Named the District 25-6A Texas Pitcher of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
