Herbst, Livesay Represent Raiders on Academic All-League
HAMILTON – Colgate Softball seniors Jillian Herbst and Quinn Livesay were both named to the 12-player Academic All-Patriot League Team announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Livesay, a sociology major and religion minor, adds to a wealthy list of postseason honors after landing All-Patriot League First Team honors for the second consecutive season. The senior catcher ranked second in the Patriot League in home runs (9) and led the team with a .351 batting average.
The Long Beach, Calif., native has served as a research tutor within the Sociology & Anthropology department at Colgate, providing on-demand tutoring support to students working on their senior thesis. She has also worked as a conference event coordinator as the lead intern for The Player's Conference.
Herbst, a four-year starter, is a psychological science major from Bradenton, Fla. She is the program's all-time leader in career at-bats (641) after slashing .269 this season with 10 doubles, three home runs, and two triples. She racked up 22 RBIs and 30 runs scored.
Herbst will graduate as a former Patriot League Rookie of the Year, an All-Region pick, two-time All-Patriot League honoree, and a multi-year selection on the Patriot League and Raider Academic Honor Roll. She played in 198 career games for the maroon and white.
