HAMILTON, N.Y. — As the 2025-26 season approaches, the Colgate Women's Tennis team prepares to build on their previous 12-11 record. With a roster that includes nine returning players and three promising first-years, the team is poised to make strides under the new leadership of head coach Damien Prohaska.

The upcoming season brings a blend of experience and fresh talent. Key returners include team captains Sasha Herman and Amelia Galen, both instrumental in last season's successes. Galen, known for her victories in both singles and doubles play, will be a pivotal player once again, having secured wins against various opponents such as URI, Seton Hall, and Providence. Herman, with a solid singles record of 7-6 last season, will look to continue her impactful performances.

Other returning players who contributed significantly last season include Sophia Montero, Carina Cristobal, and Rebecca Hess. Montero and Hess, in particular, showcased their prowess in both singles and doubles matches, contributing to the team's victories over teams like Hofstra and Rochester. Cristobal's doubles play was also a key component of the team's success.

New faces joining the team this year are first-years Caroline Brown, Vivian Hall, and Anson Silverfield, who bring new talent and skills to the squad.

With a new head coach at the helm and a mix of seasoned players and newcomers, the Colgate Women's Tennis team is set for the 2025-26 season. Their first fall match up begins on Friday, Sept. 12-14 at the Binghamton Invite where the team will compete in "hidden dual" format against Binghamton, Le Moyne, and Niagara.
