Inspired by the introductory course of the revised Africana and Latin American Studies curriculum (ALST 199), this exhibition highlights connections among coastal communities of the Atlantic and Pacific. Works from the Caribbean, West Africa, Latin America, and the Pacific Islands speak to shared themes of trans-oceanic communication, diasporas, transnationalism, colonialism, and resistance.
