Anti-Semitism in a Post-October 7th World

Led by Jill Goltzer Mundinger '14 with an introduction provided by Lesleigh Cushing, Provost and Dean of the Faculty; Murray W. and Mildred K. Finard Professor in Jewish Studies; Professor of Religion.In 2023, Anti Defamation League (ADL) tabulated 8,873 antisemitic incidents across the US. This represents a 140% increase compared to the year before and is the highest number on record since ADL began tracking antisemitic incidents in 1979. The dramatic increase in incidents took place primarily in the period following the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel. What are some of the trends we're seeing in these antisemitic incidents and attitudes? How is this impacting younger generations in their everyday environments - both online and offline - and how is ADL helping to combat this hate?
