Join us in the dynamic intersection of sound and image as Flaherty/Colgate Distinguished Global Filmmaker in Residence Onyeka Igwe presents a lecture on the place of sonic memorials in their practice, their collaboration with Black Obsidian Soundsystem, and accessibility in sound-led moving images.Works discussed will include Specialised Technique (2018); Collective Hum (2019); No Archive Can Restore You (2020); I whisper in your mouth (2021); captioning of a so-called archive (2020); A Radical Duet (2023); and an as yet untitled new sound work (2024). Q&A will be moderated by Flaherty NYC programmer Imani Nikyah Dennison.
