Raiders' 1V8 and 1V4 Hit the Water for First Race of the Season
PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — Men's rowing began its spring season with a dual against Temple on a cold windy Saturday morning on the Cooper River.
The Raiders' varsity eight and varsity four hit the water for their first race of the year.
"It was a challenging day on the water, with the wind making conditions difficult. Both boats learned a lot from their first race of the season, and now we will focus on finding more speed for our next race," said assistant coach Eric Summers.
The 1V8 was the first to compete, posting a time of 6:08.23. The Raiders kept up with the Owls but fell short in the end. Temple posted a time of 6:00.70 to take the victory.
Next was the varsity four, which crossed the finish line in 7:27.60. The Owls' boat logged a time of 6:45.45.
