HAMILTON – Colgate University Head Women's Basketball Coach Ganiyat Adeduntan has announced the addition of Lauren Coleman to her staff as an assistant coach and director of operations.

Coleman brings to Colgate more than 10 years of coaching experience, most recently serving the last two seasons as an assistant coach for North Platte Community College. There, she helped lead the team to a 2023-2024 Region IX championship and district title appearance.

"I am excited to add Lauren Coleman to our staff," Adeduntan said. "She has a unique background that's grounded on the willingness and desire to work extremely hard at everything she does. Getting a chance to know her during the hiring process showed me that we are like-minded in what we value, with the person-first approach through building relationships and holistic development. Lauren's experience playing at the highest level and her coaching stops have prepared her for this opportunity. I feel confident that she will be a contributor to our program right away."

During her time at North Platte CC, Coleman aided in the development of six All-Region and six All-Conference honorees. She was a member of the NPCC staff that earned Coach of the Year honors on the heels of their 18-12 season and unblemished 4-0 league mark in 2023-24.

While at NPCC, Coleman also served as the Assistant Director of Multicultural Leadership and Engagement. She spearheaded the development of leadership and campus involvement initiatives, fostering a dynamic student experience and increasing student participation. She established the National Society of Leadership and Success for students across the area, enhancing opportunities for personal and professional growth.

"I am honored to join the Colgate family," Coleman said. "This opportunity to work with such talented athletes and dedicated staff is truly exciting. I am looking forward to contributing my experience and passion to help the team achieve success and build on its strong foundation."

Prior to her role in North Platte, Neb., Coleman was the head coach at Beckman High School from 2019-22 and also served one season as an assistant coach at Cal Miramar University (2018-19).

Coleman earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology in 2014 from Florida State, where she was a member of the Seminoles' women's basketball program from 2010-15. A recipient of the Ronalda Pierce Heart Award and Seminole Captains Award during her time in Tallahassee, Coleman appeared in 98 career games. She became the eighth Seminole to finish her career shooting above 35 percent from three-point range (35.2 percent).
