Six Raiders Selected in PWHL Draft

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Six former Colgate women's hockey players were drafted into the pros in the second-ever Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) draft on Monday night in the Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

ST. PAUL, Minn. Six former Colgate women's hockey players were drafted into the pros in the second-ever Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) draft on Monday night in the Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

"The PWHL draft was yet another momentous day for women's hockey," Colgate Women's Hockey Assistant Coach Stefan Decosse said. "The selection of our six players is a proud moment for Colgate Women's Hockey and is no accident; these players embody exceptional character, work ethic, and devotion to their craft."

"Each of these athletes has left an indelible mark on our program, setting a high standard of excellence both on and off the ice," Decosse continued. "Their leadership, determination, and relentless pursuit of greatness has inspired their teammates and the entire Colgate community. This moment is a testament to their dedication and our commitment to fostering an environment where student-athletes can achieve the uppermost reaches of their potential."

Danielle Serdachny went second overall to PWHL Ottawa while Allyson Simpson (Round 2, Pick 16), and Kayle Osborne (Round 5, Pick 28) rejoined former Colgate head coach Greg Fargo with PWHL New York.

Sydney Bard (Round 4, Pick 22) and Dara Greig (Round 4, Pick 23) were selected back-to-back by PWHL Boston and Montreal, respectively, and class of 2022 graduate Noemi Neubauerová (Round 5, Pick 30) was chosen by PWHL Toronto.

Serdachny is now the highest draft pick in Colgate women's hockey history, edging class of 2019 graduate Jessie Eldridge who was picked 16th overall in last year's draft by PWHL New York. The New York squad now features four former Raiders with Simpson and Osborne joining Eldridge and Olivia Zafuto '19 in the Big Apple.
