Golf Earns GCAA Presidents Recognition
NORMAN, Okla. – The Colgate golf team was one of 75 Division I programs nationwide to earn Golf Coaches Association of America's (GCAA) Presidents Special Recognition for a team grade-point average above 3.5.
The team award comes one week after Robbie Herzig and Leo Li were recognized by the Association as All-America Scholars for cumulative GPAs of 3.2 or higher.
Herzig, a three-time All-America Scholar and Academic All-Patriot League honoree, was named Colgate Athletics' Scholar-Athlete of the Year during the department's annual Golden 'Gates award ceremony in May.
A GCAA-record 292 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, while 129 schools received Presidents Special Recognition for having an average team GPA of 3.5 or above.
