Rob Stone '91 Wins Jerry Yeagley Award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — United Soccer Coaches announced Colgate men's soccer Class of 1991 Rob Stone as the recipient of the prestigious Jerry Yeagley award, presented annually to a former collegiate soccer student-athlete who has demonstrated extraordinary accomplishments and service beyond the sport itself.
"Rob Stone is a most deserving recipient of the Jerry Yeagley Award," said United Soccer Coaches
President Dr. David Carr in a news release. "He has had an outstanding career in sports broadcasting and has been a fixture on the biggest soccer broadcasts that all of us in the game so thoroughly enjoy."
Stone is currently serving as one of Fox Sports' most recognizable soccer analysts, most recently covering the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia & New Zealand. Since starting his career at the Fox Sports Media Group, Stone has worked directly as a studio host for Major League Soccer, Copa America, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and at five different FIFA World Cups.
In Hamilton, the Colgate alumnus racked up 35 wins and several awards in his four-year career as a Raider. He was voted to the All-New York Region Second-Team by the 1989 National Soccer Coaches Association of America and was the first player in Colgate men's soccer history to earn first-team All-Patriot League Honors.
The 1990 Most Valuable Player and 1991 team captain sits in third place for most career assists with 15.
The Simsbury, Conn. native was also inducted into the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame in 2018. He currently resides in Manhattan Beach, Calif., with his wife Lynn and their four children.
