Three Raiders Invited to NHL Development Camps

HAMILTON — Two Colgate men's hockey players have been invited to NHL Development Camps.

HAMILTON — Three Colgate Men's Hockey players have been invited to NHL Development Camps from July 1-5.
 
Rising senior Tommy Bergsland will attend the Dallas Stars' camp, and incoming first-year Michael Neumeier will head to camp with the Seattle Kraken. Additionally, Ross Mitton '24 will be in attendance at the Detroit Red Wings' camp. This is all three players' first time earning an invite to an NHL development camp.

Bergsland is coming off a season that saw him earn ECAC Second Team All-League honors after tallying 26 points with five goals and 21 assists. Seventeen of Bergsland's helpers came during league play, helping him finish tied for eighth in the ECAC in assists and tied for third among league defensemen.
 
The Wayzata, Minn., native posted six multi-point games and ranked second on the team in blocked shots (46).
 
"I am super excited for camp. It will be a great opportunity to experience some aspects of pro hockey and build relationships. I'm looking forward to getting down to Dallas to learn and continue to develop myself as a hockey player," Bergsland said. 
 
Neumeier wrapped up his junior career with the Fargo Force of the USHL, recording 28 points with five goals and 23 assists, helping the team finish first in the Western Conference. He logged a goal and five assists during Fargo's run to the Clark Cup Championship.
 
Additionally, Neumeier played two seasons in the NAHL with the Bismarck Bobcats, posting 28 points (5G, 23A) during the 2021-22 campaign and 39 points (9G, 30A) in 2022-23.
 
"I am extremely excited for the opportunity. I feel like it is the next step to my goal of playing professional hockey, so to be given a chance like this is something I will not take for granted," Neumeier said.

Mitton recorded a career-best 30 points during his final season as a Raider, registering 11 goals and 19 assists. He led the team and was tied for ninth in ECAC in points after logging six multi-point games. Mitton also ranked tied for second on the squad in assists.
 
The Raiders' assistant captain wrapped up his Colgate career with 72 points by 26 goals and 46 helpers. He was named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team in 2023 during the Raiders' run to the Whitelaw Cup.
