Freedman, Hill Named Patriot Co-Golfers of the Week
HAMILTON – Coming off a strong weekend for Colgate Golf, first-years Jayden Freedman and Alex Hill garnered Patriot League Golfer of the Week honors on Wednesday afternoon.
Freedman and Hill both tied for second among 93 golfers across 15 programs competing in last weekend's Battle at Rum Pointe, which saw the Raiders bring home a second-place team finish. The two first-years fired identical 3-under-par 141 scorecards, finishing two strokes off the lead.
Freedman eagled No. 13 in a stretch of four straight shots under par, where he shot 5-under on the back nine to finish tied for second. Hill fired a team-best 69 (-3) on Saturday to tie for second. His final round featured seven birdies, including 4-of-5 on the back nine, to climb the leaderboard.
Colgate took second out of 15 teams competing in the 36-hole tournament at Rum Pointe Seaside. The Raiders finished 1-under for the tournament with a two-day score of 288-287=575, trailing first-place Fairfield's 9-under team score of 288-279=567.
