COACH KIRCHER'S COMMENTS

"Our goal for the final round was to win the day, and we went out and shot the low round of the day. Razor thin margins this year from being able to win. Today was really windy with difficult hole locations, and we still executed well. First-year Brayden Dock had a great even par final round to keep us in a good finishing position. Super impressed by Leo and Robbie having top finishes. Justin also bounced back for his final college round. Colgate Golf will miss the seniors that are graduating, and the program is in a better place thanks to their efforts."

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Herzig walked to the back nine atop the leaderboard after bouncing back from a double-bogey on No. 2 with a pair of birdies on the last three holes, including on No. 9 to shoot even 36 on the front. He shot 2-over on the back nine to turn in a 72 (+2).
  • Li had Colgate's best round of the day, firing a 1-under 69 to climb into the top five. The sophomore posted seven birdies on Sunday, including on No. 18 to move under par.
  • Brayden Dock tied for 20th at 7-over for the tournament. He turned in an even 70 with three birdies against three bogeys in the final round.
  • Jayden Freedman shot a 7-over 77 on Sunday to finish 11-over for the championship in a tie for 30th place. Alex Hill (+17) and Justin Fedele (+19) finished 45th and 46th, respectively.
