Men's Lacrosse Lands Four All-Patriot Selections
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Four Colgate men's lacrosse players garnered spots on All-Patriot League Teams announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Rory Connor and Hunter Drouin were named to the First Team while Liam Connor and Max Yates earned Second Team honors.
R. Connor tallied 41 goals and 25 assists, tying him for the team lead with 66 points during the regular season. He finished second in the Patriot League and sixth nationally in goals per game (3.15) while leading the team in man-up goals, firing in seven.
Additionally, Connor ranked third in the conference in points per game (5.08) and seventh in assists per game (1.92). The senior recorded nine contests with five-plus points, including a career-high 10 points with five goals and five assists against Bucknell. He also logged eight points in victories over UAlbany and Navy.
Drouin was named First Team All-Patriot League for the second straight season after posting 35 points behind 23 goals and 12 assists. He fell third on the squad in assists and ranked fourth in goals and points. Drouin also notched five man-up goals, good for second on the team.
The junior logged six games with three or more points. He tallied seven points with a career-best six goals and one assist to lead the Raiders to a win at Harvard. Drouin also registered a hat trick and an assist at Lehigh.
L. Connor had a standout sophomore season tying for the team lead with 66 points behind 28 goals and 38 assists. He led the Raiders in helpers, finishing second in the Patriot League and sixth nationally in assists per game (2.71). He also fell fifth in the league in points per game (4.71) and 10th in goals per game (2.00).
Connor tallied five games with four or more assists. He logged five helpers in wins over UAlbany, Harvard, Loyola, and Lafayette, all four of which he also notched two goals for seven-point performances.
Yates earned All-Patriot League honors for the second straight season after scooping up a team-leading 61 ground balls. He also recorded 14 caused turnovers, good for fourth on the squad.
The senior picked up three or more ground balls in 11 contests, including five games with five-plus ground balls. He tied his career-high twice this season, collecting nine ground balls during the win at UAlbany and in the victory over Navy. He logged two caused turnovers in four contests, including during the win at Villanova, also corralling six ground balls.
