Colgate Takes on Lehigh in Quarterfinals

HAMILTON — Colgate earned the No. 5 seed in the Patriot League Tournament and heads to No. 4 seed Lehigh for the quarterfinals Tuesday at 7 p.m.

HAMILTON — Colgate earned the No. 5 seed in the Patriot League Tournament and heads to No. 4 seed Lehigh for the quarterfinals Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The game will be the 54th meeting between the programs, with Colgate holding a 29-24 record against Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks won this year's regular season matchup 12-9 in Bethlehem, Pa., on April 12.

Colgate has been led offensively by brothers Liam Connor and Rory Connor, tying for the team lead with 66 points during the regular season. Rory was named First Team All-Patriot League, while Liam grabbed a spot on the second team. The brothers have connected on 18 goals this year. Liam has assisted 11 of Rory's goals, and seven of Liam's goals were assisted by Rory.

Hunter Drouin was also named First Team All-League. The junior has logged a point in 31 straight games, dating back to the 2023 season. Drouin has posted 35 points behind 23 goals and 12 assists. He fell third on the squad in assists and ranked fourth in goals and points during the regular season.

Jack Turner averages 3.07 goals per game, sitting third in the Patriot League and eighth nationally, having found the back of the net a team-best 43 times. The senior also averages 3.86 points per game, sitting seventh in the conference.

Ryan Favaro has surpassed his career-highs in goals (21), assists (9), and points (30) this season. The junior logged his eighth multi-point game with two goals in the Raiders' win over Navy.

Defensively, Colgate leads the Patriot League and sits fourth nationally in caused turnovers per game (11.14). John Carrabine has recorded a team-best 24 caused turnovers, having posted two or more in eight contests. He averages 1.71 per game, ranking sixth in the Patriot League. Sam Erickson has also logged 18 caused turnovers and has five games with multiple CTs.

Colgate ranks fifth in the nation and second in the conference in ground balls per game, averaging 35.29. Max Yates has scooped up three or more GBs in 10 straight contests and has posted four games with five-plus ground balls this season. The senior also logged 14 caused turnovers, earning All-Patriot League honors for the second straight season.

Goalkeeper Matt LaCombe has 12 games with 10-plus saves this season and has totaled 164 on the year. The senior stopped a season-high 18 and allowed just three goals, a season-low, against the Crusaders. He has made 10 or more saves in six straight games. LaCombe averages 11.71 saves per game, fourth-best in the Patriot League.
