2V4 Places Fourth at Dad Vail

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — Colgate opened the Dad Vail Regatta on Friday, with the Raiders' second varsity four reaching the grand final and the varsity eight qualifying for the second final.

FULL RESULTS PENNSAUKEN, N.J. —

Colgate's second varsity four placed fourth, and the varsity eight took seventh after winning the second final at the Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday.
 
The 2V4 logged a time of 07:20.168 in the grand final, finishing less than a second behind the bronze medal boat from Army West Point. The crew defeated MIT and Georgia Tech by four seconds.
 
The Raiders' varsity eight won the second final with a time of 06:04.310 to take seventh overall. Colgate beat out Jacksonville and Florida Tech by less than two seconds in addition to Stetson, Delaware, and Marietta.

The 2V4 began the action with its time trial, placing fourth after posting a time of 8:15.549. Colgate beat out boats from MIT, Georgia Tech, and Rutgers while coming in shortly behind Drexel, LaSalle, and Marietta.
 
In the semifinals, the Raiders clocked a time of 7:39.345, finishing third. The boat came in less than a second behind the next one from MIT and nine seconds back from first-place Drexel.
 
The 1V8 placed sixth in its time trial, recording a time of 6:20.383. Colgate came in less than a second behind St. Joseph's and LaSalle. The crew defeated boats from Rutgers, Delaware, and Stetson by under two seconds.
 
The Raiders took third in their semifinal race with a time of 6:17.010, finishing less than a second back from Rutgers and three seconds behind Drexel. Colgate also defeated Marietta, Embry-Riddle, and Army West Point.

The Raiders now wait and see if they will get a bid to the IRA National Championship Regatta, being held May 31-June 2 in Princeton, N.J,
