GLOUCESTER, Mass. — The American Hockey Coaches Association released its Krampade/AHCA All-American Scholars on Tuesday, with two members from the Colgate men's and women's hockey teams earning recognition.
Senior Kas Betinol and first-year Avery Pickering were honored for the women, and first-year Jake Schneider and sophomore Andrew Takacs were the men's honorees. This is the second straight year Takacs has been named an All-American Scholar.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and backup goaltenders.
A total of 610 Division I hockey players were recognized this year.
