COACH GUIDO'S COMMENTS
"Our seniors battled until the end today. Everyone stayed together and continued to fight throughout the whole game. Not the way we wanted to finish the season but I was proud of the team for their resilience not only today but over the course of the entire season."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Holy Cross jumped out to a 2-0 lead, Lucy Lederman drove inside and buried her fifth of the season to get the Raiders on the board.
- Kait Henning tied the game at two apiece but the Crusaders used a seven-goal surge to take a 9-2 lead.
- Aubrey McMahon ended the run with a dodge from the goal line and cut the deficit to six at the end of the first quarter.
- Holy Cross extended its lead to nine with three goals to open the second quarter.
- Caroline Panzirer fired a bounce shot into the back of the net for Colgate's fourth of the day.
- Sarah Marcovici took a feed from Panzirer and scored to cut the deficit to seven with less than five minutes remaining in the first half.
- McMahon found Panzirer down low and the Raiders cut the deficit to 13-7 at the halftime break.
- Holy Cross opened the scoring in the second half but Panzirer was able to get the Raiders back within six.
- The hosts scored two unanswered before McMahon completed her hat trick but the Raiders remained behind 16-9 headed to the final frame.
- Ella Bishara found Lucy Licata inside to open the fourth quarter but the Crusaders responded with a goal of their own to keep a seven-goal cushion.
- Holy Cross continued to extend its advantage to nine with less than seven minutes remaining.
- Colgate responded with a three-goal run to cut the deficit to six. Licata, Panzirer, and Henning scored in the quick run.
- The Raiders late bid for a comeback fell short as Colgate were defeated 19-13.
SEASON NOTES
- Lucy Licata finished her career as the program record holder for draw controls in a single season finishing with 163 this year. Licata will also finish ranked second in all-time draw controls with 258.
- Caroline Panzirer finishes her junior year with 43 goals and 25 assists for a total of 68 points. The junior now sits five goals away from 100 in her career.
- Aubrey McMahon concludes her first season with the team's second-most 51 points, including 36 goals.
- Coach Guido led the Raiders to their first winning season since 2018 in her first year at the helm.
- Nelle Kniffin led Colgate in both ground balls (30) and caused turnovers (24).
