HOW IT HAPPENED

- Maryland scored three runs on three hits in the bottom of the first and never looked back.
- The home team added four runs in the third to lead 7-0, and then a two-run homer from Sam Bean in the bottom of the fourth gave the Terrapins a 9-0 advantage.
- Mia Cascio reached base twice via walk. Mackenzie Lewis made a sparkling play in left field in the bottom of the third, launching a one-hopper to home plate that beat the runner.
