Swim & Dive Underway at PL Championship
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Colgate swimming and diving teams got off to a strong start during Wednesday's abbreviated opening session of the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship at Lejeune Hall on the campus of Navy.
The women's team stands in fifth place after three events and the men's team is placed in 10th after two events.
COACH PRETRE'S QUOTE
"Outstanding first session tonight for the Raiders! Both teams swam extremely smart, executing their races beautifully. With a young team on the first day, you can't ask for much more than that!"
HOW IT HAPPENED
The event began with the women's 200 medley relay. Colgate's quartet of Brooke Garretson, Regan Hau, Jordan Hurt, and Lucy Art clocked in at 1:41.71, good for fifth place overall, less than second behind fourth place, and a half-second off the program record.
The men's 200-yard medley relay saw Colgate's crew of JD Suarez, Ryan Jee, Scott Pejic, and Jack Schurtz-Ford secure a program-record time of 1:31.68, placing 10th.
