WEST POINT, N.Y. – The sixth-ranked men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 setback to No. 3 Bucknell on Friday evening in the Patriot League Quarterfinals. The loss brings an end to the 2024 campaign where the Raiders finished 6-15 with a 2-4 mark in conference.

"It was a tough loss that ended a tough season for the men," Head Coach Bobby Pennington said. "Bucknell, like the top five teams in our league, is loaded top to bottom, beyond talented, and beyond deep. We had our chances in doubles but came up short and got outplayed in singles."

"I feel like we had a very conducive schedule to have a winning record and ultimately a season of what-ifs and many missed opportunities," Pennington continued. "We were 0-5 in matches decided by one point, and we didn't get Mike Thomas back until mid-April from injury. We have a ton of work to do to get back in the thick of the league where we were my first 15 years. We have ten guys who need to step up and train hard this offseason, and three outstanding recruits coming in. We will never be lower than the six seed, but it is going to take a lot of work to get back in the top half."

The first point of the match swung the Bison's way after wins on courts two and three clinched the doubles decision.

Colgate then dropped points on singles courts two, one, and five in that order which sealed the victory for Bucknell.

The promising young core of Raiders will return to the courts next season reloading much of the same roster, only graduating one senior and adding three new talented rookies in the Class of 2028.
