Colgate will now head to Rhode Island to take on Providence. The two teams have matched up once before in the 2016 season opener. Providence was able to overcome Colgate in two overtimes, 92-85.
Providence earned a first round bye into the WNIT second round after a 13-20 season, falling to UConn in the Big East Tournament. Olivia Olsen leads the team in points (13.7), rebounds (8.5), and blocks (1.7).
Colgate looks to advance to the Super 16 of the WNIT where they would take on the winner of the game between Vermont and Niagara.
COACH ADEDUNTAN'S COMMENTS
"We are excited that we get another opportunity to play in the postseason. This is the best time of year and I am grateful that my players get this opportunity. We've had some great practices this postseason with our focus being that we want to feel good about how we show up to play. Our goal is to play Colgate Basketball on both ends of the floor.
