Colgate Falls 13-12 to BU in Regular Season Finale
HAMILTON — Boston University rallied back to defeat the Raiders 13-12 in both teams' regular-season finale Friday evening at Andy Kerr Stadium.
The Raiders started the game on a 4-1 run. Sam Erickson and Hunter Drouin scored in the opening 1:02. Following a BU tally, Colgate got two more starting at the 9:39 mark with a goal from Rory Connor and another from Michael Minicus just under two minutes later. Jack Turner then fired one in at the 3:38 mark, and Connor got his second with seven seconds remaining, putting his team ahead 6-2.
Colgate scored four straight at the start of the second quarter, beginning with a tally from Drouin a minute and 15 seconds in. Just over 60 ticks later, Minicus got another to make it 8-2. Connor scored twice in 20 seconds to finish his hat trick, plus one, with 11:06 left.
BU put in the final two goals of the second, which started a 7-0 run. The Terriers fired home five more in the third, making it a one-goal game at 10-9 with 1:53 remaining. The Raiders ended the run with a goal from Turner 16 seconds later.
In the fourth, Turner scored again at the 12:30 mark, pushing the lead back to three at 12-9. The Terriers then went a 4-0 streak to end it, tying the game with 6:26 left, then taking the 13-12 lead two minutes later.
Connor led Colgate with eight points behind four goals and four assists, tying his career-high for the second straight game. Turner also logged a hat trick, while Drouin finished with two goals and an assist. Max Yates and Kyle Rummel picked up a team-best five ground balls, while Yates also logged two caused turnovers. Matt LaCombe made 12 saves in goal and logged two caused turnovers as well.

The Raiders earned the No. 5 seed in the Patriot League Tournament and will head to Boston for a rematch against the Terriers in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
