CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard used a 10-0 run early in the second half to build a double-digit lead it did not relinquish in a 78-67 win over the Colgate men's basketball team Friday night at the Lavietes Pavilion.

Parker Jones and Nicolas Louis-Jacques scored 13 points to lead a Colgate team playing without two of its leading scorers. Chandler Baker scored 11 points off the bench and led the team with three steals. Blake Forrest in his first collegiate start finished with nine points, five rebounds, and five assists.

COACH LANGEL'S COMMENTS

"Everybody faces adversity at different points of their season. Both teams have faced some challenges this year and they found better ways to win tonight. They played small at times and still won the possession battle, turned it over less than us, and rebounded better. We didn't get to the foul line at all and that's a sign that the tougher team won. I don't feel great about the way we're responding to adversity. The road doesn't get easier for us. We've got to find a way to create an identity. We have to work harder, be tougher, and be much more disciplined moving forward." HOW IT HAPPENED

• Forrest drilled a 3-pointer followed by a layup from Sam Wright to draw even at 38-38 two minutes into the second half. From there Harvard's three-point barrage sparked a 10-0 run, with jumpers from Robert Hinton on each end giving the home team a 48-38 lead with 14:53 left.
• Colgate closed within five points, 50-45, on a three-pointer from Nicolas Louis-Jacques with 13:40 remaining but that's as close as the Raiders would get. 
• A 3-pointer from Chandler Baker cut the margin to 56-48 and then a layup from Louis-Jacques kept the deficit at eight points before Harvard raced on another 8-0 run capped by a free throw from Hinton to put the game out of reach, 66-50, with 7:48 remaining in the game.
• Head Coach Matt Langel emptied the bench late in the game, with all four Colgate first-years sharing the court for several minutes down the stretch. 
• There were 15 lead changes in the first half with neither team leading by more than five points. The Raiders jumped in front 30-29 with 2:34 remaining in the first half on back-to-back 3-pointers from Jones who scored all 13 of his points in the first 20 minutes.
• Harvard closed the opening stanza on a 7-3 run including the last four points to go into halftime leading 36-33.

• Colgate shot 46.6 percent overall (27-58) and 40.6 from behind the arc (13-32). The Raiders did not shoot a free throw in the game.
• Harvard shot 49.2 percent from the field (29-59), 37.9 percent from downtown (11-29), and 81.8 percent from the free throw line (9-11). 
• The Crimson outrebounded the Raiders 34-27 including seven offensive rebounds to Colgate's four. Harvard had 10 steals and outscored Colgate 18-12 in points off turnovers.

Colgate (1-4) heads to Wilmington, N.C., for the Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic during Thanksgiving week. The Raiders open the three-game tournament by facing the hosts, UNC Wilmington, Wednesday at 7 p.m., followed by Appalachian State (Nov. 29) and Sam Houston St. (Nov. 30) with noon tip offs.
