HAMILTON --- Colgate football walked into the halftime locker room deadlocked against Georgetown. The Raiders negated a late Hoyas drive, sealed by Tymir Wynn's interception, and would get the ball to start the second half. 

A quick touchdown to start the third quarter gave Colgate a lead it never relinquished, and the Raiders got to celebrate their first Patriot League triumph of the season with a 38-28 win over the Hoyas.  

"This was a huge league win," Fred '50 and Marilyn Dunlap Head Football Coach Stan Dakosty said. "They were coming in with the best record in the league, having just knocked off the defending champs last week. So we know they were going to be confident."

The Raiders had multiple players generate impactful plays, and thanks to a 41-yard field goal by Luke Vogeler, Colgate secured the two-score victory to gleefully sing its fight song in Biddle Plaza. 

"Early on the 4- or 5-yard runs turned into 10-, 15-yard ones in the second half," Dakosty said. "We played Colgate football, Colgate tough, and it all started up front."

Raiders quarterbacks Jake Stearney, Zach Osborne and Aleks Sitkowski all had opportunities as the signal caller, with Stearney picking up his third start of the season. The sophomore QB finished the game with 195 passing yards and one touchdown, while Osborne and Sitkowski both rushed for a combined 53 yards. 

Sitkowski scored his first touchdown on the first play of his collegiate career with a 21-yard dash into the end zone at the start of the second half, giving the Raiders the eventual game-winning lead.  

Running back Marco Maldonado led on the ground, rushing for 112 yards on 14 carries and scored a touchdown. He's the first Raider to have over 100 rushing yards in a game this season.

Linebacker Cole Kozlowski recorded his fifth game with double digits tackles this season, extending his season total to 78 tackles — leading the entire conference. Safety Asauni Allen matched a career best seven tackles against the Hoyas, including five solo stops. 

The Raiders sit in third in the Patriot League for total first downs per game (19.4) and in second for fourth down conversions (12 of 19). Colgate only attempted one fourth down conversion against Georgetown, and completed it, while picking up 24 first downs against the Hoyas.
